Hindu Social Leader killed in Bangladesh

In the Dinajpur district of Bangladesh, a prominent Hindu community leader is reportedly abducted and beaten from his home. 58 -year -old Babesh Chandra Roy, who lives in Pasudevpur village in Dinajpur, quoted the Daily Star police and family members that the bike was abducted and sent back home.

Babesh’s wife Shantana Daily told Star that she had received a call to her husband at 4:30 pm and the culprits made the call to confirm that the culprits were at home. Santana added, “About 30 minutes later, 4 people came on two motorcycles and reportedly abducted Babesh from his home. He was taken to the village of Narapari, where he was brutally attacked. When he was sent back home, he was unconscious and his family members took him to a hospital in Darajpur. However, when he got there, he was reported to have died.

Babesh Chandra Roy was the vice president of the Bangladesh Pooja Udjaban Parishad and the main leader of the Hindu community in the region. The Daily Star Braul police quoted the officer of the police station, Abdus Sabur, and said that arrangements were being made to register the case. He said the police were working to identify and arrest the suspects. Meanwhile, India on Friday rejected the comments of Bangladesh officials on violence in West Bengal and asked Dhaka to focus on protecting the rights of minorities instead of preaching.
