Gujarat RTE Admissions 2025 – 86,274 Admission to private schools under RTE in Gujarat

In Gujarat, 86,274 children have been enrolled in the first phase of the process of allowing the children of economically weak and backward classes under the RTE Act (RTE) Act of 2025-26. These combinations are one of the 93,860 seats allocated in a total of 9,741 private schools in the state.

According to the RTE Act, the state’s recognized private schools must allocate 25 percent of their first class places to economic weak sections (EWS) and impoverished (DG) children. The Gujarat government has the costs of the education of the children selected under this reservation.

More than 2.38 lakh students applied
This year, 2,38,916 online applications were received under RTE from across the state. After examining the documents, 1,75,685 applications were approved. 13,761 applications have been canceled due to incorrect or incomplete documents. At the same time, 49,470 applications were canceled by parents. According to the rules, parents should be given priority to schools located 6 km from their home during the application. On this basis, the allocation of seats is made in the first round.

7,586 seats were empty in the first stage
In the first phase, a total of 86,274 children were admitted, but 7,586 seats were vacant as parents were unwilling. These empty seats will be filled in the next stage.

Last date for confirmation of approval 8 May
In the first stage, the parents of the selected children have been sent by SMS. They must appear with all the necessary documents until Thursday at the relevant school and ensure the entry of the child. After the first round process, the admission process of the second phase for the remaining places will be launched soon, which will be announced through the official website of the RTE Gujarat.

9,741 private schools in Gujarat have educated in different languages:
– Gujarati Medium Schools: 5,725
– English Media: 3,553
– Hindi Media: 408
– Marathi: 55
– Oria: 13
– Urdu: 7

This year, the first phase of the RTE is from the following types of children who are prioritized:
– Children studying in Government Anganwadi (32,267 students)
– need or orphans for children
– children of migrant workers
– Body disabled children
– children of martyrdoms
– The only daughter is the only daughter
– PPL, SC/SD, SEBC, OBC and public class qualified children
