Officials said Greece is mobilizing the number of firefighters and its drone will double the navy this summer, with the risks of wildfire fire caused by climate change.
Civil Defense Minister Ionis Kefaloconis, 18,000 permanent and seasonal employees will be mobilized and will be supported by thousands of volunteers, as the damage caused by wild fires over the past two decades is continuing.
“It is clear that this year’s conditions are particularly difficult,” Kefaloco told journalists after participating in a training exercise to fight fire near Athens.
