The company in charge of running the city of Mexico General Bicycle Network – Ecobisi – Mayor Clara Brugada announced at a press conference that he has been fined for lack of bicycles.

In recent months, Ecopic users have reported problems, including broken seats, loose chains, flat tires and broken brakes and pedals on city bikes. Some users posted photos and videos of broken equipment on social media.

Many have criticized the distribution of docking seats and the lack of bicycles as it balances the units in an emergency.

“We will soon announce how Ecobisi will be expanded in the city and how to improve the service,” Brokada said during a press conference. “Calls are already being made to the company responsible for the ego, so that all citizens’ complaints are immediately addressed.”

Bruga said that the company in question was fined.

The Federation of 5M2 and BKT BICI-Pöblica has operated Ecobisi Pixer Network in Mexico City Since 2022.

News site La Chilla Rota reports that many users have prompted many users to review their members.

The mayor does not provide any details of how this will be achieved in announcing plans to improve ego through the expansion plan.

Member of the Ban Political Party, Daniel Simal Garcia, has criticized Bruga’s expansion plans, in addition to emphasizing companies that manage egois for users who experienced service issues.

“Despite the shortage of bicycles available at units and stations outside the service, the management of the Clara Brugada wants to extend the system, which has not operated in recent months.” Said During the March 31 session in Congress.

Simal Garcia voiced on the creation of more bike paths in the past, strengthening signatures and improving public places.

Do Ecobisi bikes get routine maintenance?

The Ecopic Network of Mexico City receives regular maintenance. By 2024, the city’s movement ministry suggested that more than 300 units per day were served in the Miguel Hitco municipality and that the collapse of the bikes would be due to their “stable and serious” use.

This means that 2,100 to 2,450 ecopic bicycles are adjusted every week, which is equal to 23% to 26% of 9,300 bicycles currently in the service.

However, Ecobisi employees have admitted that new black bicycles have acknowledged that the last red bikes have been “last” and that they were replaced by 2022, La Chilla Rota said.

The number of ecobisi users is increasing

Despite many challenges, the Ecopic network continues to grow. By 2024, Ecobis recorded more than 22 million trips, indicating an increase of 83% over the previous year and a four -fold increase in 2022.

In the first trimester of 2025, more travels were taken on egois than throughout 2022, which shows how the system has become popular. This may be due to the expansion of the network and improvements on the bike paths of Mexico.
