Young women in ICTs are likely to grow – opinion

In the specific skills of women’s specific skills, in many areas of Higher Education Inter Dispelina, in many fields of higher education and the ability of care and creation of higher education in communication technologies (ICT). While changing the world of ICTS, women are likely to actively and significantly support society and build the world future.

Despite the benefits of diversity in the ICT region, the female style in the dominant field of this men has been sub-depressed. To understand the reasons that led to this sub-principle, and to find out what women are removing from career in the ICT have been investigated in very varied forums. Some of the results, selecting to train in the area, are struggling to seek integrated and supporting at the beginning of a professional course, eventually abandoning the profession. It further enhances the inequality of the gender in this field.

Another need for some women, when they choose a profession in ICT, their work makes a diversity. In this sense, and to attract young girls, there are multiple programs. Some companies and companies promote activities that develop technology and entrepreneurship projects that contribute to normal good (for example, Microsoft, Technovation Girls, etc.). Still, the inequality in the ICT sector is clear. In the speed that this inequality is decreasing, it will only take 67 years to remove it in Europe (according to the Women Tech International Organization).

The objectives of the European Union for the Digital Decade program are to reduce gender inequality in the ICT as a measure of the progress and economic growth of society. In recent years, in Portugal, there has been a moderate increase in female representation in the region and higher education. According to the Directorate General for Education and Science Statistics in Portugal, 0.7% of women registered in higher education in ICT Degree, 3% of this percentage for men. In particular, in the Faculty of Sciences (Ulisbova), in the degree of Informatics Engineering, 16% of students belonging to women’s style, in the degree of information technologies, this faculty group, this percentage of 20%.

“Girls in ICT Day” (International Day of Young Women in Information and Communication Technologies) International April 4, at the International Union of Telecommunications, aims to increase the awareness of career opportunities in ICT. But the responsibility and opportunity to overcome the ideas and stereotypes of stereotypes contribute to the progress of society.
