Senator Measias de Jesus (Republicans-RR) has filed bill number 1,247/2025, provisions and guidelines that allow oil and gas in areas that are considered as national fuel security at the Amazon gate.
According to the legislative proposal, it is mandatory for the exploration of oil and gas in the area, a detailed study on the effects on the environment, along with the report that describes these effects.
This proposal also establishes other rules such as the app of sustainable development, which ensures reconciliation between economic growth, social justice and environmental protection; Adopting technologies and techniques that reduce environmental and social impacts to promote the protection of affected ecosystems and traditional societies.
Also, according to the bill, it is necessary to consider the generation of direct socioeconomic interests for the local population, including the development of infrastructure incentives, professional qualification and sustainable productive activities; Strengthening national fuel security, reducing regional inequalities and increased public procurement for union, states and municipalities.

Under the justification of the bill, “the attraction of private and international investment for the infrastructure of the region and the eligibility of labor, technology transfer and innovation in environmental extraction and relief techniques”.
