Pahalgam Renewal: 16 arrested in Assam for creating traitors after Bahlkam attack

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma on Sunday said that 16 people from all over the state have been arrested for expressing inflammatory and treacherous comments after the Bahlkam attack. The Chief Minister, who posted on the social media site ‘X’, wrote, ‘So far, 16 arrests have been made. Strict action is taken against these people. Earlier, information on 14 arrests was provided until Saturday evening.
May take action under NSA
Among the arrested include the Opposition AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam. Chief Minister Sharma said action would be taken against the people arrested under the National Security Act (NSA) if necessary.

The issue came to light when terrorists attacked a tourist destination in the south of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. 26 people lost their lives in the attack, and most of them were tourists.
