Excellence and innovation in municipalities in old age
The Higher Institute of Information and Management Sciences (ISCIA) offers prizes for excellence and innovation for the national authorities in aging, a leading initiative aimed at distinguishing Portuguese municipalities with public policies and innovative projects that focus on active aging and insert the largest population.

Due to the growing aging of the Portuguese population, the program arises to identify local merit, enhance good practices and encourage the development of sustainable, comprehensive and effective strategies in the regions.
The program includes two categories of prizes:
A group of municipal excellence, attributed based on an evaluation model that includes aspects such as budget planning, higher participation, human resource specialization, and generations programs.
Municipal innovation awards, which require innovative projects provided by municipalities, taking into account the evaluation by an independent expert committee.
Applications take place from April 11 to May 9, 2025 and can be submitted through the official website: Isia.edu.pt/galardoes- Autarquias.
An initiative with academic seal
ISCIA, which has more than 35 years of experience in higher education at the College of Applied Arts, is highly betting in the field of social sciences and education, with training in psychology, social education and related fields. The establishment of the prizes enhances the Foundation’s commitment to developing effective public policies, and linking academic knowledge to automatic reality.
