Ibama releases removal work from Pedral Do Laureno on Tokantins River | The economy
Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Resources (Ibama), released on Monday (26/05), License to the National Infrastructure and Transportation Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DNIT) Tokantins River Road right – Pedral Do Laureno – between Santa Theresinha Do Tauri and 35 km Long Island, including the installation of auxiliary flower beds, industrial and explosive hall.
The license will be valid for five years, and ensures that the DNIT underwater collapsed pilot project with the use of industrial explosives can be implemented, thereby collecting complement and relevant information from the explosion incident, to verify the size of the excavation and detonation project. Release to pay environmental compensation is also conditional R $ 4.802.701,94.

“After about eight years of waiting, the environment license finally came to the beginning of the fall of Pedal Do Lareno in the municipality. Those from Para, knowing how important this work is, is about this task,” Para governor, Helder Barbalho, the decision.
The project is aimed at launching the full navigation of the Tokantins River throughout the year, eliminating the natural obstacles caused by rocks that prevent traffic in some periods of drought.
