Drawing a future code: Technology is also the dreams of females – opinion

It is important to judge that there are the same opportunities for all people to be involved in their construction in the most shaped world through technology, including girls, in this field. By identifying World Girls Day in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), we are invited to celebrate the talent in the technical area and, at the same time, to reflect on the obstacles that continue in balance for education and digital careers.

The effect of diversity on technical innovations is undeniable. Various teams that consolidate different perspectives can think more creatively, build more comprehensive solutions, and are better ready to respond to the challenges of the constant changing world. Still, the number of girls who choose a career in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) is very low. Not for the lack of talent, but often for the lack of incentive and the designs they can detect.

All this starts at the beginning. Six or seven technical interests are not yet shaped by sex stereotypes. But as they grow up, many girls understand clear or subtle messages, telling them that technology is “not for them.” This is not just us, but we have to intervene.

We need to rethink the method of providing technology to all children. To rebuild the complexity of this reality, it is important to show that programming is as creative as creative, and building a game as a mystery of solving a mystery. More than that, girls should be seen as innovative and leaders in the digital world, and are not exceptions in the most challenging industry.

It is a collective responsibility to encourage girls and women ICT, which has a change in comprehensive psychology from families, schools and institutions to the whole community. We need to give visibility to real women in real cases that use technology to change the world for comprehensive educational programs, guidance programs and above all, and an example of how they can be as much as possible.

Technology has no sex and talent. Promoting equilibrium access to digital education is a guarantee that we will support the future that will be built with more justice, more creativity and more representation. Today, let’s leave an appeal: let the doors inspire, support and open. This is because every child we inspire and supporting today may be the leader to change the world tomorrow.
