Some farmers in the village of Palivanavalli in Andhra Pradesh have created a new path for agriculture. Farmers are farming with water partnership principle. For this reason, water waste is also not happening and yields in agriculture are also increasing. Farmers have set up a water -share formula to maintain the principle of water partnership. Farmers have entered into an agreement for this. Under this, any farmer associated with it cannot place a new borewell for 10 years. This new use of farmers has improved groundwater levels in the area.
Groundwater level improvement-
Farmers are farming by adopting the principle of water partnership in Paleyanapalli village. Earlier, there was little water for agriculture, he said. For this reason there is trouble in agriculture. For this reason, yields have also been reduced. But now it is benefiting from sharing water. He also said that it would benefit agriculture and improve groundwater levels.
16 farmers’ effort is the result of-
16 farmers from the village of Paleyanapalli have been involved in the plan. All these farmers have simple connections. Shared Borewell was laid on 38 acres of land in the village. The event began in the village in 2012. First of all, these farmers set up a water partnership group. All the farmers gave Rs 2500-2500 and registered it. All the farmers are tied to the stamp paper, they do not dig borewells for a decade. Of these 16 farmers, 4 have borewells. 12 farmers were without borewells.
Pipes supply water-
These farms are connected to the 2200 feet of Paleyanavanapalli village. Water is supplied through this pipe. Its benefits are more beneficial during the Kharif crop. During the Kharif season, borewells provide water from the general pipeline to farmers associated with this group. In this, water is required during sowing, flower or fruits and crops.
How did this scheme began
In 2007, the program was launched by Hyderabad Watershed Support Services and Activities Network (Vason). Today, 73 villages of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are linked to the program. According to the report, Vasan Executive Secretary A.K. Ravindra said that Vasan was inaugurated by World Bank and APDMP. But now the farmers continue to join it. Now the situation is that the farmers joined the event. It is also benefiting. Groundwater levels in these villages have improved significantly.
