‘National Milk Day’ is celebrated in India on November 26 every year. Dr. Varghese is celebrated today on the birthday of Kurian. He is known as ‘Milk Man of India’ and ‘White Revolution’ father.
What is the white revolution?
The white revolution was inaugurated by Dr. Varghese Kurian in 1970. Its purpose is to transform India itself in terms of milk production. Due to their hard work and plans, India has become the most milk -producing country in the world today. Dr. Kurian was the President of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) from 1965 to 1998.
