Vijay Story: FPO has grown farmers from Bhagalpur, earning over 25 lakhs annually
Chandan Singh, who lives in the Lathpakar area of Dharhahara village in Gopalpur block in Bhalpur district of Bihar, realized his grandfather’s words with his hard work and understanding. His grandfather said, “If you use your ancestors’ land properly and in agriculture, you can earn more than the engineer.” Chandan Singh is earning over Rs 25 lakh annually through the park and traditional agriculture.
In addition, they teach young farmers to earn better income from agriculture with the help of farmer groups. If agriculture is adopted as an industry, they believe that no one can stop the farmers from becoming economically and socially wealthy.
Most Trades come into farm after business
Before the start of agriculture, Chandan Singh worked in many fields, such as the contract, the NGO and the Security Guard Agency. However, he did not know that mango and litchi plantations were spread on the eight acres imposed by his grandfather decades ago, and he would be strengthened socially and economically. They say that they and their younger brothers are well earned from traditional crops and earnings from Litchi and mango cultivation. Apart from this, they went to fishermen along with seasonal crops.

Litchy was sent abroad
Chandan Singh said he was sending two tons of Licin to Bangalore nowadays. Last year, he exported Litchi abroad. He is preparing to send two tons of mangoes abroad from Bangalore this year. Currently, Lichini is selling 230 to Rs 300 per kg in Bangalore, he said.
There he not only gains himself from a park or agriculture, but also adding other young people in the village with agriculture. Chandan said that his villages work in agricultural and gardeners at the age of 22 to 25 years and wore branded clothes and shoes in the evening. His dream is to establish agriculture as an industry and they are constantly working in this direction.
Problems caused by lack of transport facility
Chandan Singh produces good production with his hard work, but in other states, there are many difficulties in sharing Litchi or Mango. There are no regular trains available in Bhagalpur district or large cities such as airport facility or Bangalore or Mumbai. If you want to send mango or litchery from the flight, you have to go to the siligi that is about 250 km away.
There is no air cargo facility at the nearest Diogar airport. At the same time, it is only one day per week from Bhagalpur to Bangalore, in which it is not always possible to find space. In addition, the lack of market arrangements at the local level, the intermediaries buy the farmers’ crop at arbitrary prices. Chandan Singh said the government should take care of these issues.
