A private firefighting vehicle arrives at the firefighters in ílhavo in July
The Humanitarian Association of volunteer firefighters in ílhavo has signed a contract to acquire a private firefighting vehicle (VECI) by 548,300 euros, as well as VAT.

The project results in a joint effort between the municipality of ílhavo, the administration of Porto de Aviro (APA) and companies installed at the liquid liquid station in Porto de Aveiro.

The car has “innovative technology and unique specifications in Portugal”, and the car includes 15,000 liters of water capacity and 1000 liters of foam agent for hydrocarbons fires, in addition to monitoring a high freezing fire, advanced thermal analysis systems, explosive atmosphere monitoring, and communications that act with ATEX visits and equipment for protection and chemical.
“The acquisition of this car is a great progress in the protection of infrastructure, the environment and the locals, which enhances the operational capacity of the voluntary firefighters in Ilhavo and allowing a more effective response to emergency situations,” says Ilhavins.
