There are help news for farmers who cultivate pulses. Scientists at the University of GB Pant Agriculture and Technology in Uttarakhand have developed two new types of Urad. Both types are named Pant Yurad -13 and Pant Yurad -14. Scientists have developed these two types in further production and immunity. According to scientists, these types are better in current climatic conditions. Also, it increases the income of farmers.
Large foot toward the frequency
University agronomists said new varieties are going to be cultivated quickly. Also, their product is higher than traditional varieties. Apart from this, these varieties have also started to fight insects and diseases. With this, farmers have to reduce costs on chemical drugs. Experts believe that if these types are adopted on a large scale, it is an important step for self -esteem in the production of pulses at the regional level.
Appeal to farmers
The university has appealed to farmers to adopt these types so that they can make more profits at low cost. What are these two types of features-
Pont Urad -13
This type is especially suitable for areas with low rainfall during monsoon. Its crop is cooked on average in 75 to 80 days, ready to sow and cut quickly. Scientists have explained this type of yield capacity to 10 to 12 quintals per hectare. This type is highly resistant to yellow mosaic virus and burning disease. For this reason, farmers should spend less for crop safety.
Pont Yurad -14
This type can be higher yield and ripe during medium intervals. Its crop is ready in 80 to 85 days. This type gives a large brown color, which is more important in the market. Pont yurad -14 leaf also cope with major diseases such as twisted disease and root rot. Under this, it is likely to yield 12 to 14 quintals per hectare. This type is considered specifically suitable for Terai and flat areas.
