Born in Sao Louis (MA), the Grenaldo Navy was arrested in 1964 after claiming the Navy military and better working conditions. According to the Sao Paulo Resistance Memorial Registration, he was arrested in April 1971, who tortured and executed by the Sao Paulo Political and Social Order Department (DOPS/SP) under the auspices of Sergio Flery.
At that time, the authorities were forced into the cause of Denis’s death and the effort to escape. A DOPS report signed by Flery on May 19, 1971 claimed that Denis tried to escape after detaining custody and was beaten with several “random” shots. According to the document, it was not found on the same day, but only the next day was already hospitalized at Santa Casa de Ubhaba.
The report explains that agents took him to Sao Paulo with the intention of attending the hospital Das Clicas. However, according to this official reform, Denis did not resist his wounds and died.
