The 11 coaches of the Bangalore-Kamakha AC Express derailed, 2 passengers injured, train going to Guwahati in Odisha

On Sunday, 11 coaches of the Bangalore-Kamani AC Express were derailed in Cuttack, Odisha. Two passengers from Assam were injured in the accident. The train is traveling from Bangalore to Kamakhya Station in Guwahati. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma confirmed the incident.

East Coast Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Ashok Kumar Mishra said that 11 coaches of SMVT Bangalore-Kamahaya AC Express were held at Manguli near Nagundi at 11:54 am today. Railway and administration are engaged in relief work.

The accident occurred due to missing rails

Under the supervision of senior railway authorities, rescue and renewal work on the affected area is on the basis of war. According to Cipro Mishra, trapped passengers are being set up for their destination. Officials said the three trains were changed due to rails. These trains are Dhalei Express, Neelachall Express and Pululia Express.

NDRF and Odisha Fire Service are engaged in rescue

According to the Odisha Fire Brigade Service Director General PTI, Sudhanshu Sarangi said the NDRF and Odisha firefighters were helping railways in the rescue operation.

Railway has issued a helpline number

The Railway has issued two helpline numbers- for the help of 8455885999 (Bhubaneswar) and 8991124238. Ashok Kumar Mishra said that we set up a control room and helpline for the affected passengers. We will soon share more information about passengers.

From the injured passenger accident

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma said that 2 people were injured in the Bangalore-Kamakia AC Express and were not in an accident. He said in a post on X that I was sharing updates on the incident of train number -12551, and no casualties from Assam. State-Wilson of Udalguri Digal and Amiran Nisha of Baxa are injured and receiving treatment. Both are not in danger. (Ajay Kumar Nath Input)
