Why do CNT teachers protest in Mexico City

One of the most powerful teacher unions of Mexico, the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE), has been maintaining a series of demonstrations in Mexico since May 15, as part of a national strike for changes in work and educational conditions.
Demonstrations include toll booth acquisitions, embassy demonstrations, and sitting in the jal of capital of capital Blocks at Mexico City International Airport (AICM) Cuauhtémoc, Walk of the Reform and PLD. Adulfo Lopez Matthew, ie capital in the capital.

CNT Most of the affected schools are located in the southern states of Oksaka, Chiabas and Kuerro, the Ministry of Education (September) said.
What are the teachers’ demands?
The main request of the author was to repeal the 2007 ISST Act, which was recognized during the tenure of President Belippe Calder, promised to cancel President Claudia Shinebam during his campaign.
CNT members say the law affects their pension system by the need for pensions based on personal savings funds. The amount is calculated using the current One (Measurement and Update Unit)Instead of minimum wage, as teachers demand.
CNT members accuse the government of benefit from private pension financial executives (above), pointing out that their activity is supported by international duties such as the USMCA. Teachers say that the current model is stimulating the resources of the state and chain workers to financial markets and large corporations.

Teachers have been arguing for a pension system for many years, not age. As before the 2007 ISSDE law, they demand that women can retire after 28 years of service and men after 30 years. The current law sets the minimum pension age at 56 for women and 58 for men, regardless of many years, This considers CNTE to be unfair.
They also demand that teachers around the country be doubled.
What did the government offer?
On May 15, Teachers’ Day, Claudia Shinbam announced the early 9% salary hike in January, an additional 1% increase, starting in September, additional week leave for teaching staff.
Shinbam gave a decree forgiving loans, cut off the amount of loans and frost of interest Fovisste (Publicly subsidized) loans will benefit more than 24,000 teachers. The move costs more than 19 billion bezos ($ 989 million) for the government.
Sheembam issued a decree to disable the minimum pension age, but the teachers did not change age criteria.
What is the state of negotiations?
CNTE rejected Shenbam’s plans, saying they did not resolve the main demands of the teachers.
In 2024, Shinbam promised to abolish the 97 and 2007 pension reform, with the “help of the Mornista Plaotner.”
Today, as president, he is retreat. He lied. He is a CNTE. Like the past sexynos … no one will stop them.

“This is a new ISST. Newspaper La Jarnada. “As for the high leave time, we have never requested it. No, we are asking for the cancellation of these two central reforms that undermine the rights of the workers.”
So far, CNTE representatives have met high -level Mexican officials, but not with Shinbom. On May 21, he refused to meet with them, claiming that they had broken the conversation, because they prevented the entrance of their morning news conference.
Teachers threaten to continue to protest until June 1 Mexico’s first judicial electionIf they do not receive a “definitive response” from the government.
“Of course, we do not want to wait until June 1st. If they give us a firm answer today or tomorrow, we will not be crazy to persuade us to do what we are doing,” said Pedro Hernandez of CNTE’s Pedro Hernandez, a press conference outside the National Election Agency.
