Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, said that the central government has always given priority to the welfare of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and their interests. The Modi government has taken very important steps to improve the farmers through reforms and schemes in agriculture.
The central government confirms the minimum support price of farmers’ production (MSP) so that farmers can get the right price for their efforts. In particular, the government is constantly making efforts to achieve self -interest in the production of pulses.
Rap in the purchase of Tur
The central government has taken an important decision regarding the purchase of TUR (pigeons). Tur’s main production is now a moment of purchase of Tur in states. As for 2024-25, the government has approved the purchase of TR, Urad and Lentils under the 100% Price Support Scheme (PSS) of state product. This phase gives more benefits to farmers and the dependence on imports is also reduced.
Steps move toward self -safecianity
The Modi government has announced in 2025 that it will buy 100% Two, Urad and Lentils for the next four years to achieve self-sufficiency in the production of pulses by 2028-29.
State -wise collection plans
In the Kharif 2024-25 seasons, the purchase of the Tour (Ella) in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisga H, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. In Karnataka, the collection period was extended till 90 days May 1.
So far, in these states, a total of 2.46 lakh metric tonnes has been purchased, which has benefited 1,71,569 farmers.

Purchasing Scheme of Agricultural Products
The central government has approved the purchase of gram, mustard and lentils under RMS 2025. This year, the total gram of gram was 27.99 lakh metric tonnes and mustard of 28.28 lakh metric tonnes, while the approved lentils were 9.40 lakh metric tonnes.
Government commitment
The central government has simplified the registration and process through the portals of NAFED and NCCF for the benefit of the farmers, making farmers easily sell their crops at MSP. Also, the government has appealed to the state governments to ensure that there is no less than MSP from farmers.
