Senate bet accepts advertising limit | Method

The Senate has passed a bill that limits betting housing ads at football stadiums and banning athletes, influencers and artists in betting statements.

“Finding a path to the full ban of advertising of sports betting is this proposal, but it will greatly reduce the reach of youth and children to disciplined advertising on bets,” he said.

Prohibited according to the project:

  • Advertising statements in live broadcast of sports event;
  • Dynamic quotes (odds) or likelihood of updated in real time during direct transmission;
  • Although the betting originates from the official channels of the operators, increasing the content outside the permitted times;
  • Use athletes, artists, communicators, influences or advertising, image or participation of any person.
  • Sponsorship of fixed -quota betting agents, direct or indirect for other members of the referees and the arbitration group;
  • The use of any audiovisual resources directed to children and subluminous children, produced by animations, models, mascots, characters or artificial intelligence;
  • Promotion of communication programs and actions that teach or directly stimulate the practice of betting games;
  • Sending messages, calls, correspondence, application notifications or any other types of communications before the recipient of the recipient, without free, information and expression permit;
  • Except for stadium advertising codes and ads on sports squares, BET teams, stadium or competition.

According to the approved text, allowed:

  • Advertising on Open TV and Pay, Streaming, Social Networks and Internet between 7:30 pm and midnight;
  • Radio ads from 9 am to 11 am and 17 to 19 H30;
  • 15 minutes before advertising and transmission in the transmission of sports events.
  • In advertising, anytime, in sponsored pages or proprietary applications by websites, pages or betting operators, whose access is based on the user’s charity.
  • The brand show of sponsors and betting operators, called to announce the broadcast of sports activities from 9 am to 6 pm, if they do not have an invitation, encouragement or promise of betting; Do not refer to probability, quotes or propaganda bonuses; And observe the index classification;
  • Betting ads in social networking platforms or other Internet applications for authenticated users over the age of 18.

Approved text is an object of movement that is contrary to clubs that make up the Brazilian Football League. In the mass note, the proposal provides “financial fall from the entire sports ecosystem and especially football” because of the loss of $ 1.6 billion per year. The betting sector has also responded to the bill, which claims that the move is pushing gamblers into the illegal market.
