Revolutionary change from agricultural mechanization in Bihar: Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Kam Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said there was a significant increase in the income of farmers due to agricultural mechanization and modern technology in the state. He said that the central and state government’s schemes were being carried out in the agriculture sector. In 2009-10, the availability of agricultural power is only 1.23 kWh per hectare. At the same time, in 2022-23, it increased to 3.56 kW per hectare. Due to the easy availability of agricultural tools in the state, farmers are getting more comfort in agriculture, he said. Facilities such as tractor, power tiller, threaser, harvester, drip and sprinkler irrigation are now reaching small and mandatory farmers.

Increased productivity due to agricultural mechanization

Due to agricultural mechanization, farmers are now plowing, sowing and growing in a timely manner, which can reduce agricultural costs and increase production, said Agriculture Minister Sinha. At the same time, schemes such as the custom recruitment center and the agricultural machinery bank are mentioned. The Deputy Chief Minister said that more than 1000 custom recruitment centers have been set up in the state, which is because small farmers are cheapering with modern farming equipment. Apart from this, poor farmers have the availability of equipment at cheap rates through the Agricultural Machine Bank.

Farmers are becoming wealthy by training of farm machinery

The Agriculture Minister said that the state government is providing 40 per cent to 80 per cent subsidy to farmers on a total of 75 types of agricultural tools, including the threater, multi-kuroper planter, drip and sprinkler system, to promote mechanization. Farmers are technically authorized by training for proper use of modern agricultural tools. At the same time, in the coming years, farmers will be given priority for the expansion of State -Art -ART -Art Agricultural tools, the expansion of custom recruitment centers and the training of new methods.
