Jorge Almeida and Patrick Child, Deputy Director General of the European Commission Environment, began the contract that gives the commitment to make 2026 a “successful year”, through a wide range of activities in order to continue to improve environmental sustainability and contribute to increasingly green green.
George Almeida said: “It is additional pride that today we sign this agreement with the European Commission, which distinguishes Bingoda as a city at the forefront of moving to a more green and healthier urban environment,”
The mayor said, “The ambitious plan suggests” to implement 365 days “of activities, events and” green “initiatives that will again appear” our commitment to the environment and the application of policies for more sustainable development. “
The activity plan for the year 2026 under the received award – which translates into the appointment of 200,000 euros of European funds to stimulate sustainable development and environment measures – Ageta will bring many organizations and citizens from all over Europe to monitor what is being done in the municipality in sustainability.
“We want to be a laboratory for ideas, where good environmental and innovative practices can be tested.”
It should be noted that with the signing of this agreement, the European Commission will pay 70 % of the totally guaranteed financing under this project.
