The rain will continue from April
On Saturday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s office (CMO) said that 71 people lost their lives due to monsoon rains in the state since April. In a statement, CMO said in a statement that the monsoon rains in 2025 were the highest rainfall recorded in the last 125 years and May in May. The state usually receives 74 mm of rain in May, but this number has reached 219 mm. This average is 197 percent higher than normal rainfall. Similarly, in the pre -Donson period of 2025 (March 1 to May 31), the state usually receives 115 mm rain, but the original rainfall is 286 mm, which is 149 percent higher than the average normal rainfall.
Compensation for victims
The announcement said the rain and storms would be seen across the state before the monsoon. All districts received more than normal rainfall. According to a statement, from April 1 to May 31, 48 due to lightning, four people from a drowning house, four from the drowning, four from the landslides and a person died due to electric shock. The statement said that a total of 71 people lost their lives and emergency compensation to the deceased’s descendants was Rs 5 lakh.
702 animals also died in the state, of which 698 were compensated for animal damage cases. Of these, large animals are 225 and small animals 477. Of the 2,068 houses, 1,926 houses have already been compensated.
Most hectar crop is also damaged
Many hectares of crops in the state have also been damaged due to pre -rains. So far, 15,378.32 hectares of crops have been destroyed in the state. 11915.66 hectares and 3462.66 hectares and horticultural crops were damaged. Officials said that crop damage was provided to enter the compensatory software and the compensation process was underway.
