The government has bought 6 lakh tonnes of Tur
According to the Business Line report, Bimal Kothari said that the prices of pulses are lower than the most low support price (MSP) or MSP. The central government has bought 5.5 lakh to 6 lakh tonnes of turns this year and these prices are still lower than MSP.
Urban under MSP
In the various Mandis of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka, the price of the Tur Doll is between Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,200 per quintal, which is against the MSP of Rs 7,550 for quintal fixed for the 2024-25 season. According to the report, the domestic supply of pulses over the past few years has increased rapidly. After this, the government started importing major pulses such as Tur, Urad, Lentils and Turmeric Peas to control prices.

68 lakh tonnes of lentils imported
The government has imported yellow peas from last year so far and now in May this year, its fee -free import period. At the same time, the fee of Tur and URAD will continue until March 2026. In the fiscal year 2024-25, the government imported a record 68 lakh tonnes of pulses, with more than $ 5.4 billion.
The IPGA Speaker said the price of gram in Rajasthan was lower than the MSP and the price of lentils was also low. Most pulses are under the MSP. Therefore, there is no chance of rising prices in the current year. At the same time, there is no problem with the availability of pulses. In such a situation, this is good news for consumers.
Waiting for yellow peas
Bimal Kothari said he was looking forward to the government policy regarding the import of yellow peas. This applies after May. Now the main question is whether the fee is importing or fee again. At the same time, in many other countries, this time pulses have a good crop, he said.
