Paddy Collection: Purchase Paddy begins in Odisha from May 1, Find out how much MSP and ‘bonus’ government gives

There have been big news for Odisha’s rice farmers. The state government has issued a foreign country to start the process of paddy in the MSP in 20 districts from May 1. The government is aiming to buy 14 lakh metric tons (LMT) rice in the current rabi season. Officers gave this information on Saturday. The decision was taken on Friday at a state -level collection committee meeting chaired by general secretary Manoj Ahuja. The meeting was attended by the Collector of 20 districts through video conferencing. As with the kharif season, within 48 hours after the collection of paddy, Rs 2,300 for quintal, Rs 2,300 and input assistance will be transferred directly to the farmer’s account.
Rice runs until June 30
At the same time, Sanjay Kumar Singh, General Secretary of the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department, explained the appearance of problems for the discussion. Sanjay Kumar Singh said about 73.45 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in the last kharif season had been purchased from about 16.60 lakh farmers. Farmers have paid Rs 16,853 crore for the purchase and paid Rs 5,862 crore as a minimum support price (MSP) and input. Similarly, the purchase of paddy for the current rabi season begins on May 1 and will continue until June 30.
3.37 lakh farmers registered
The official said that in the current season, the goal of buying 14 lakh metric tonnes of rice was set at the meeting. About 3.37 lakh farmers have registered for the purchase of rabi rice. The official said that this year’s newly included Kandhamal, Sundarga HTs and Bhadrak will be purchased in 20 districts. A total of 965 primary agricultural institutions and 200 self -Help Groups (SHG) were also involved in this exercise. The General Secretary has directed the concerned collectors to ensure that eligible farmers should not be lost from the purchase of paddy.

He praised the attempt to distribute tokens in farmers by valuing the Odisha Space Application Center through satellite imagery technology. He ordered the authorities to deploy nodal authorities and supervisors for immediate Mandis, where the farmers will get all the facilities. Each body has CCTV and every vehicle carrying rice from Mandi to mill should have a vehicle tracking system. District collectors have been instructed to make special arrangements for rice safety in view of unintended rains and heat waves. Similarly, special teams are deployed in the border districts to monitor the external vehicles carrying rice during purchase. (PTI)
