‘It is full gear’: COP 30 is required for the union of the manufacturing sectors, says the ACP President’s economy

What have you been expecting from 2025 from this year, which is a very timely moment for all areas of Para?

Elizabet Grunwald: I really believe that a COP 30 Climate Conference event in Belem is a big opportunity. This is a window of opportunities for the manufacturing sector in terms of business. Brazil, Amazon and Para, keeping our guidelines and our problems are a very important moment.

This is the first time in Brazil, and for the first time, Belim has received a great event. Therefore, I see this moment from the moment we know that the cap is going to be in belly in the mid -2023, because we started building ourselves, because it was a very important moment of business opportunities for the state and the city. In fact, with this COP30 boom and the start of this door worldwide, Belium is really in the midst of these discussions around Amazon and Bethlehem.

What are the predictions for the commercial sector? Does demand increases too? How is this sector preparing?

I think this last year we have developed so much, okay? Again, when we learned us there in the middle of -2023, we started building in the trade committee.

We have the Sector Council Council and we have already started operating in the Sector Tourism Chamber, Sector Chamber of Gastronomy, Environment and Sustainability, Insurance, Real Estate Market, Syndix and Parominium.

So, we have many weapons in the trade community and have started to maintain these weapons, discussing their section of each camera, how can we build each other well to enjoy this moment, but to create a productive sector, for all, to be ready to welcome these people, to accept this event.

In the last year, we have a lot of steps in this regard and we are conducting ourselves. And we were able to discuss with financial market companies, credit opportunities with more competitive fees. We have also discussed the entire company of this small -season rental market, which is one of the solutions of COP.

We are discussing the improvement of hotel capacity with the hotel sector. So, we are talking about Retrofit in hotels. We are talking about programs and excite new hotels, and the supply of hotels in the city is still much less than we expect to have tourism capacity in the city. Therefore, we are working hard on this heritage.

We want to tell you that not only the commercial community, but also the commercial organizations, especially the commercial community, is working hard, so that the manufacturing sector is a good structure so that the manufacturing sector can understand that it is an opportunity to replace the Para and Belim city on the world tourism route.

How is the hotel ready to increase demand during the COP?

Look, throughout the year, we have a lot of actions in this regard, we have managed ourselves. We discuss credit opportunities in financial market companies, further competitive fees. We are discussing hotel capacity improvements with the hotel sector, and then we are eating about the retrofit in hotels and the new hotels in the city, because the supply of hotels in the city is much less than we expect to have tourism capacity in the city. Do you think COP would be the fact that training for success would be a factor?

The benefit of living a moment in this way is definitely the manufacture of this sector, more professional expertise in actions, in products. When we learned that we would receive the COP, the state government created a platform called the Capacita COP30 platform with the help of all business organizations. So we have built this process together and we have about 30,000 spaces.

We hope to train about 30,000 people and most importantly: free of charge, at least 67 course activities. That is, we are talking about the hotel, waiter, matre, restaurant, store, air conditioning management, electrician, plumber.

However, all activities that have a product chain, especially tourism. Until last month, we were able to train about 15,000 people, and by the end of this year, our goal was about 30,000 people. So this is a very important activity. Because, see, gabi, the act of adding value.

When you build your business well, when you have a good service, you have a good understanding of financial management and list control, you will surely sell more. And when you sell more, you can invest more in your business and grow. So this is our character: improve the business environment. And this training action adds a value beyond the COP.

The goal is, of course, is preparing for this event, but our whole work is not just for COP time. Our work is to improve the business environment for better structure and opportunities for the manufacturing sector.

What about the problem of accommodation and what’s going on?

The hosting is a very big challenge. I have always said, except for the great metropolis of the world, no city is completely ready to receive 50,000 people in a short period of 15 days. But this is the theme we’ve prepared a lot.

In the trade committee, we have one of the real estate chamber and liquidators and condominium, to discuss the lease by the short season, which is one of the solutions for COP. In addition to the hotel sector and hotel vacancies, we must have other solutions that make this amount we need for this program.

We are discussing a small season, leasing for prices … suddenly, will you rent a million rias to your home? I, “No, gabi, your house is not worth million rias.” To guide you to assess your property, to guide you, talk to Real Estate with a broker. Someone, “Gabi, your property is not worth a million. Your property is worth 10,000. The value of your property is 100 thousand.” Let’s assess this.

So, we are very calculating with real estate market, realtors, real estate and owners so that we practice reasonable prices. We know that prices will increase, as it is culturally in big events.

But if we practice abusive prices – and then I am talking about the short season and hotel sector – the market, city, can burn us in the foot of the meeting, but most importantly we want to leave the city. We hope these people who discuss climate change will come back.

They can return with their families, return with their friends – and where we are inherited to the city with a lot of inheritance: that Belum, Para State, Amazon region re -entering the world, so that we can excite and heat this market.

So I want to tell you that we are assessing a lot of opportunities.

To understand what the availability is, we are constantly in a conversation with the hotel sector to align all of this. Because we heard a lot: “My God, there is no hotel in the city, there are no more rooms in the town. How do we receive?” So the hotel sector is self -managed. In fact, the field was very sad throughout the dimmed because the hotels were shutting down the door.

Yes, they had to be restructured in order to retropit. They are investing in the improvement of two -year -old units. You know what the unit has been turned on for two years – how much it deteriorates. So in this process, hotels are struggling to reorganize and, consequently, prices increase.

All this is a challenge to do the orchestrat. The state government has a state committee, the city has a committee and also has an extraordinary secretariat for the post of Republic. So in these three cases, along with the manufacturing fields, are very close to these challenges and see how we can work to reduce and reduce these problems.

What fields do you think most of the time preparation for COP is needed?

That’s exactly. You can’t say, at this point, there is a more important field than another, because everything is part of a set. By the time I obtained a tourist, conference representative or foreign delegation, this delegation needs to be, food, urban mobility needs – and then we are talking about transport, buses and cars.

This delegation will eventually have a health problem and we will need to confirm medical attention. She needs more planes, so we are talking about air access. It comes through the airport, which has a more appropriate exit and landing room. You need connectivity.
