In view of the current situation, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and the Ministry of Welfare of Agriculture and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Ministry of Rural Development held a review meeting on Friday. We have not targeted citizens, but the policy of Pakistan’s vicious act, the army is giving an adequate answer.

Wheat, rice and other grains are available in sufficient quantities. Bumper production is also being made from farmers. In the year 2023-24, the total food grain production was 3322.98 lakh metric tonnes, which increased to 3474.42 lakh metric tonnes in 2024-25, Chauhan said. There is no shortage of rice, this year 1464.02 lakh metric tonnes were built against 1378.25 lakh metric tonnes last year. The wheat was estimated at 1132.92 lakh metric tonnes last year and this time 1154.30 lakh metric tonnes, which are expected to increase further.

Shivraj Singh also appreciates agronomists, which develop a variety and research. The production of both wheat and rice increased by four and a half percent a year. The production of pulses has also changed, from 242.46 lakh metric tonnes to 250.97 lakh metric tonnes, all oilseeds were produced from 396.69 lakh metric tonnes to 428.98 lakh metric tonnes. He said there was no concern about fruits and vegetables and that the production of horticultural crops increased to 3621 lakh metric tonnes compared to 3547 lakh metric tonnes last year. The potato was 570.53 lakh metric tonnes last year, which was 595.70 lakh MT this time. Onion is 242.67 lakh metric tonnes, which are 288.77 lakh metric tonnes this year. Similarly, tomatoes increase from 213.23 lakh metric tonnes to 215.49 lakh metric tonnes.
Will continue to buy brown and rice
Union Minister Shivraj Singh also informed the purchase of products from farmers and that on May 8, 539.88 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased in the year 2024-25. Similarly, till May 8, 267.02 lakh metric tonnes of wheat were purchased from farmers and this trend continues. Rice and brown reserves are full, we have a buffer stock of pulses, there is no shortage of anything. The farmer was also ready for the next crop, yesterday we decided that it was the Kharif meeting and how to increase the product during the kharif season. In these circumstances our people have no shortage of food grains, confirm the safety of foodgrains, no one has to worry, we have a lot of stores, we have a lot of food grains available.
The government gives plant equipment
Shivraj Singh said, “We are also evacuating the villages many times in such circumstances, then in such a situation, we are also predicting what crops are sown there, for which we are ready for the seeds and planting materials. If you need to sow even a little late, we may worry about what they need in that situation. We will also discuss with the chief ministers of the states like Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and also have communication at the level of the authorities, which will also be established in these situations. Shivraj Singh said that if our siblings come from anywhere in such circumstances, the Ministry of Rural Development has also decided to make job arrangements immediately.
Union Minister Chauhan said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our country is moving forward in every direction and that the country is completely ready and the Agriculture and Rural Development Department is also ready.
