Himachal farmers are happy with the prices of hill peas, the rate is rising to Rs.40-45 kg

In Himachal Pradesh, farmers are getting a good rate for peas. Hill peas from Janga Tahsil’s Sirmour border have now reached different Mandis across the state and farmers are happy with the prices of peas. Recently, the price of peas has increased and on Wednesday, the average price of peas in Solan and Map Vegetable Mandis is Rs 40 to 45 per kg.

This year, due to low rainfall in the winter, the peas have faced some difficulties. Farmers like Diram Verma and Janga region are said to be average due to winter powder. Interestingly, the peas crop is ready two weeks before normal.

The rate is higher than last year

On Wednesday, the price of peas sold around peas, Shimla and Sirmor from Rs. Unfortunately, due to hail in some areas, the peas have become white, which has reduced their market value. However, there is not much decline in its rate.

Speaking to Transporter Pradeep Baragta ‘Himachal Highlights’, the peas crop is slightly lower than last year, but farmers are getting better prices. The first cargo of peas from Junga every year begins to arrive in late March and early April. Tomatoes, capsicum and Frenchbean season begins after peas.

Farmers are happy with peas yield

The farmer is happy with the yield of peas and good prices. The Agriculture Department has provided good assistance to the farmers by providing a variety of peas seed subsidy in the Mashobra block area. These seeds are usually made available at a subsidy rate of Rs 80 per kg at a price of Rs 130 per kg.

Peas are planted in Himachal Pradesh. The peas here are late in the markets and sell them for good rates. This is the reason why the peas season ends in the northern states, even after which, the supply of peas is seen in the market. The supply is coming from Himachal Pradesh, which is expected to grow further in April.
