Fake seed-bulls are now offered for bail-free crime, long prison sentence and heavy fine

In Haryana, the state government has made strict regulations by changing the bill to deal with fake fertilizer/seed/pesticides. With this change, the original seeds/pesticides in the market are promoted and farmers do not have to suffer losses. The seeds (Haryana Amendment) Bill was passed in the Assembly on Thursday 2025 in which one to three years in prison and a fine of up to Rs 5 lakh to prevent inferior or fake seed production and sale. Also, it has now been declared a non -Batteries offense.

Apart from this, pesticides (Haryana Amendment) Bill, 2025 was also approved. The purpose of this bill is to create a stringent law to investigate the sale of duplicate and inferior pesticides in the state. The state assembly passed six bills on Thursday.
The seeds (Haryana Amendment) Bill, in 2025 there were strict regulations for fake seed manufacturers and were selling them, the official statement said. As part of this amendment, Section 19-A was added after Section 19, which represents the violation of Section 7 of the Seed Act, 1966 in Haryana.
This offense is not bept
To ensure stringent implementation, the state government has committed such violations noticeable and non -bail. According to the goals and reasons of the bill, the Seed Act, 1966 was implemented for some seed quality for sale and was implemented for things associated with it. It has been observed that most producers, dealers and sellers are engaged in seed production, storage, selling, transport or distribution that are not according to standards.
Farmers are selling seeds that do not give results to improve the productivity of agricultural products. As a result, the cost of crop production is increasing and the economy is experiencing losses. Therefore, the Haryana government considers the sale of inferior seeds and for this purpose, Section 19A has been added after Section 19A for violating Section 7 of the Seed Act, 1966.
Punishment and strict regulations
The revised rules have strengthened the punishment for those involved in duplicate, adulterated and inferior seed production, selling and distribution. Under the new rules, any company or producer has been convicted of such seed production or construction, at least one to two years in prison and a fine of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh for the first time.
In the case of a second or subsequent crime, the punishment will be sentenced to at least two to three years in prison and from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Similarly, people or seed vendors, such as sale and distribution of fake, adulterated or inferior seeds, were sentenced to at least six months to one year from at least six months to one year in prison for the first crime in the new regulations.
Further punishment for re -doing this crime
For the second or subsequent crime, the sentence has increased at least one to two years in prison, which can be fined Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. The Haryana Legislative Assembly has also passed a bill to amend the current pesticides law, and the fine and fine for criminals are increasing. (PTI)
