E-Nam subsidy is not available without Aadhaar, a government big announcement regarding the scheme
The e-Nam means that the applicant is the basis for the benefit of the Electronic National Agriculture Market Scheme subsidy and other facilities. This scheme is to make this scheme more transparent. As a new rule, if a farmer wants to join the e-name, he wants to take advantage of this platform, he will have to give his Aadhaar details. This is not mandatory earlier.
Farmers get subsidy from the government through an e-name scheme. The government has made Aadhaar mandatory for the benefit of subsidy for the real farmer. Once the e-Nam’s account is enrolled in Aadhaar, the chance of rigging will decrease. Connecting the Aadhaar with an e-name reduces the possibility of fraud. With this, farmers take advantage of the subsidy directly on their account.
Problem due to mandatory basis
However, its problem is also mentioned. Farmers who cannot add their Aadhaar details on the e-nam platform and lose government facilities. It slows down the real purpose of the e-name, in which the government encourages farmers to sell their products directly to customers. Reducing the intervention of intermediaries in the sale of products is that the government’s focus is on the full benefits of government schemes directly to the farmers’ account.
What is the benefit of the farmers
Through e-nam, farmers get the right and time rate yield. Since everything is online, it also cleans the business. The platform works to connect Mandis in the country, that is, APMC. Farmers and buyers do online business on this platform. To make this task faster and comfortable, the government is mandating Aadhaar at the e-name. This phase is also looking to become digital.
