India’s Election Commissioner Vivek Joshi presided over a high meeting in Patna on Friday and reviewed the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The meeting was attended by Bihar Chief Election Officer Vinod Singh Kunjial, State Police Nodal Officer Kundan Krishnan, Patna’s District Magistrate and District Election Officer Chandrasekhar Singh, Patna Senior Police Superintendent and other senior officials. During the meeting, especially the election arrangements for the Patna district, the law and order measures and the voting infrastructure were given a detailed presentation.
Dr. Joshi emphasized the importance of conducting independent, fair, all -in -law and peaceful elections with the maximum contribution of voters. During the meeting, the authorities said that the model compliance, the special brief amendment of the voter list, the formal voter education and the electoral corporation, the law and order situation, the access and the grievances for the voting staff management, the access and the grievances for the disabled and senior citizens.
The Election Commissioner expressed concern at the lower rate of the youth voter registration. The number of youths aged 18-19 in Bihar is about 64 lakhs and currently only 8,08,857. He advised the authorities to intensify efforts to increase the youth record.
In the last Lok Sabha election, Bihar’s average voting percentage was 56.28 per cent, which is less than 66.10 per cent of the national average. He called for a strategy to create a subtle level to increase the vote. The total number of voters, including 7,69,046 disabled voters and 5,91,347 -year -old voters (over 85 years), said the Bihar chief election official said. There are a total of 77,895 polling booths.
Joshi emphasized the need to ensure the necessary facilities at all polling booths, especially the participation of the disabled and the elderly voters. He is expected to visit East Sambharan’s Modihari and will review the election arrangements in Pettiya (West Champaran).
On Sunday, he will meet with SSP officials in Valmiki and review the grassroots products in Vaishali on Monday. The aim of this study is to evaluate voter facilities, safety, training programs and electoral machines at the ground level. With this arrival, the Election Commission reiterates its commitment to hold open, peaceful and participating elections in Bihar.
