It is said that the police were thrown into the Muslim -Lominate Murshidabad district of West Bengal on Tuesday during a protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Act and its vehicles were set on fire. The incident took place in the Jangipur area where a large number of people gathered in the afternoon demanding the withdrawal of the law. A senior police officer from the district said, “The protesters threw stones at the area where the protesters were parked, and some police vehicles caught fire.”

Many Muslim organizations and opposition MPs have approached the Supreme Court against the law.
