Fiamg said steel charges would reduce companies in Brazil

50% of the United States imported steel and aluminum products have come into effect, which is a concern in the Brazilian industry.

The President of the Minus Garies Federation of Industries (FIIEMG) has warned about negative impacts on the national steel industry.

According to Rosco, if Brazilian steel products do not awaken a different condition, the industrial garden is most affected, causing significant damage to the industry.

The FIEMG president believes that the sector is already facing challenges with the introduction of Chinese products in the Brazilian market.

Double Challenge to the industry

There are two attacks on the Brazilian steel industry in the current scenario: Admission to Chinese Products to lower prices in the domestic market And the potential loss of the export market for the United States.

Rosco insisted that this sector bet was in an agreement with Americans to prevent serious problems.

Rosco predicts that if 50% of rates are maintained, many companies will have to reduce the product or look for new markets, which is difficult in the current scenario.

The alternative is to focus on the product intended for the local market, but it requires greater protection from imports that are considered exploited.

Search for different effects and solutions

The FIEMG president believes that the effects of companies in this sector vary. Some have operations in the United States and are less affected, while others, especially those who focus on the export of steel plates, face more difficulties.

Rosco points out two solutions: a agreement with the United States, and secondly, regardless of the agreement, there is a greater protection of the local market when the steel trade war is the center of trade war.

He believes that despite the challenges, Brazil, including the current conjunctive US market, can bring opportunities in other departments.
