Taking an important initiative, the Maharashtra cabinet on Tuesday gave agricultural status to the fisheries sector. Fishermen believe that farmers will get the same facilities and concessions. This decision will benefit fishermen and fishermen, who can obtain water, electricity and other basic facilities. State Fisheries Minister Nitesh Ron has described the Cabinet’s move as ‘historical and revolutionary’. 4,83,000 fishermen said they would benefit from it.
Fishermen also get subsidy
Naitesh Ron said that Maharashtra has the ability to generate adequate production and income as traditional agriculture in the fisheries sector of Maharashtra. Due to the lack of agricultural status, fishermen, water stallwarts and fish spinach have lost many basic facilities and benefits. Ron said the decision would strengthen the rural economy as fisheries shareholders got many basic facilities and concessions.
Crop insurance also benefits!
Naitesh Ron said there is a significant increase in fish production in the state. Farmers get subsidy for seeds, tractors, plow and fertilizer. Similarly, fishermen now get subsidized to buy fish seeds, livestock, paddle-wheel aurator and air pump. He said that the decision was allowed to claim insurance such as crop insurance for farmers like crop insurance to compensate for fish seeds and production.
Income also increases
In the case of natural disasters such as drought or more rain, fishermen will get a relief package similar to a government relief package given to farmers. He said the economic development of coastal areas would be promoted in coastal areas by granting agricultural status for fisheries wealth. Employment opportunities arise and income increases. The fishermen have now been identified as agricultural farmers. Therefore, they get a subsidy on electric fee.
Fish production also increases
Ron said parents of fish, fisheries development projects, relevant factories and processing units will get electricity at the agricultural rate. ‘Fish Foster farmers are eligible for credit cards, loans from banks at agricultural rates and insurance coverage at subsidized agricultural rates. He said the fisheries sector would significantly contribute to the country’s foreign exchange and protein -rich food supply.
Like agriculture, fisheries in Maharashtra also cause strong product and income, said Naitesh Ron. Fishermen get electricity subsidy, pharmaer credit card, agricultural rates, subsidized insurance and subsidy of equipment, which will increase the production of fish.
