White wine of grapes paint is not a new thing. The French have done this for several centuries for the differences, in particular, for the champagne, where the appointment of Blanc de Noirs is synonymous with sparkling white wine exclusively made of Pinot Noir and Pinor Meanier.

Also in Portugal, the sparkling white wine of the coated grape achieved a remarkable success, from the beginning with the Pinot Noir layer that shows a sudden ability, in a hot climate like us, leading to large sparkling rules (when it is present here in red, the result is often inconsistent or disappointing). But also in houses such as intent or vertex, national varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz or Touriga Franca, alone or mix with white grapes, have been used for a long time to clarify excellent brilliance.
Certainly, the biggest success in this field will be a variety of Baga, who started in Berrada in training as a sparkling basis in the 1990s and 2015, led to an organized and accredited category – Baga@Bairrada – which won the market. Today there are about 31 companies in the region to produce@Bairrada bag and more with each year that passes. The empty berries form a type of 5 in 1: I created a company that was not before, which contributes to the sparkling bairrada growth; It launched an institutional brand that was associated with the class with an area; Increased product profitability – Double sparkling bruises can produce without affecting quality; It has deviated from the least capable berries, which raised the average red red quality; He assumed this to provide a lack of white grapes, allowing them to better use and value.
The path of white paint in calm wine is much more. Among us, the state of study (I would like to say that worldwide) is invisible, white from Aragones that were produced in Alentejo by Ervideira. The wine imagined the producer Duarte Leal Da Costa was created in the 2009 harvest, after it occupied 9000 bottles. From the year 2024, 135,000 bottles were manufactured, sold at an average price of 14 euros. The next harvest will be 150,000 bottles. Illogous success, above all, in two aspects: qualitative consistency and the distinctive factor, being distinctive in the color of any white wine and flavor, that is, white wine. In a non -visible path, albeit in a much lower volume, today we have nearly twenty calm paints from all over the country. I admit that I am not a great admirer with the eggs of the paints, I always feel that the citrus ingredient that I appreciate in white grapes, but I realize the quality and even, as I have proven invisible, diversity on the table and longevity.
What leads me to the big question: What do we seek when we make white in the paint? If the idea is to mark originality, then it should be as different as possible for “natural” white. But there is another way, which can work in parallel with this, which is imposed by necessity. Today, in areas such as Alentejo, Douro or Den, we have more white paints, which is the imbalance in which consumption trends will continue. We should not, especially for the simplest eggs, should look for that coated grapes, mixed or not in white, will come to provide this deficiency, how are some homes already, in Dio, in Duo? This means a completely different approach: trying to make white wine paint in white. A big challenge, undoubtedly, for those who guide generosity and neck.
